    A HEMI-Powered Hybrid

When I hear HEMI, the thing that first comes to mind is performance - mind-blowing performance that is. And of course, I think about Chrysler because after all, they made the HEMI what it is today. But today, the HEMI is not all about power but it is also about fuel efficiency.

Recently, The Auto Channel reported that Chrysler LLC unveiled the 2009 Chrysler Aspen HEMI Hybrid and the 2009 Dodge Durango HEMI Hybrid. These two vehicles are a long time coming but they are here now and the automaker is showing that it is not only about large and gas-guzzling vehicles but it also has the ability to develop green vehicles. I can't help think that somehow, Jim Press has something to do with the unveiling of these hybrid vehicles.

We know who Press is and what he has done at Toyota. It is widely believed that it was Press who lobbied the Japanese bosses to approve the production of hybrid vehicles. With that in mind, I think Press may have put some pressure on Chrysler to do the same. Although developing hybrid vehicles takes a lot of time, it would have been possible that Press' arrival has put the development of hybrid vehicles on fast mode.

Naturally, the guys at Chrysler are proud of their creation just like Suzuki car owners are proud of their car's Suzuki shocks. Frank Klegon, the executive vice president for product development at Chrysler, had this to say: "The new 2009 Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango HEMI Hybrid vehicles will offer our customers the sought-after blend of performance, utility, capability and vastly improved fuel economy - all in one package. Combined with Chrysler's Multi-displacement System (MDS), our advanced, two-mode hybrid technology immediately delivers a more than 25-percent fuel economy improvement to our full-size SUVs - and up to a 40-percent improvement in the city."

The RoboCars of 2057 To Present Audi Virtuea Quattro

RoboCars. They aren?t for kids. They are for buffs.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is set to happen in mid-November, aficionados can take advantage of the rare opportunity to witness outrageous futuristic cars. The auto show will be holding its 4th annual Design Challenge based on the concept ?RoboCar of 2057.?

Among the automakers included in the auto design challenge are Audi, General Motors, Honda, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen. Know what you will be driving by 2057? Visit the auto show to give you a hint. I?m sure the cars by then are more refined, environment-friendly, wackier and better.

One of the captivating futuristic cars will be showcased by the maker of the Audi 4000 radiator. The masterpiece is called the Virtuea Quattro, a hydrogen-powered vehicle with artificial intelligence and a holographic exterior so that people can customize and change their car's look at whim without environmental impact, CNET News stated.

The automaker said that the car "combines artificial intelligence with avenues of self expression." That means its design can revolutionize to blend an exacting momentary proclivity. It does it by getting rid of that darned material surface and trading it with a holograph of a body style surrounding the outside. As such, drivers can change the car's looks on the fly.

    Jalopnik writes:

    Audi Virtuea Quattro
It's the year 2057 and Audi continues to revolutionize through technology, offering a hydrogen-powered vehicle that combines artificial intelligence with avenues of self expression.

This single-seat, autonomous driving machine functions as a solid unit at its core, while providing a myriad of possible holographic exteriors stored in a library and accessible through the vehicle's interactive holographic interface.

Virtuea's holographic exterior provides a variety of possibilities, allowing the driver to select from the most innovative designs from one minute to the next. The vehicles image can now be proudly displayed without environmental impact as no physical materials are needed regardless of size.

The automaker takes pride in launching personal transportation that combines passion with brainpower, which not only optimistically affects the environment but our lifestyle as well.

I really am looking forward to see futuristic designs like that of the Virtuea Quattro. Oh yes, I?m quite excited about the cars.

    Don?t keep me waiting...

Volkswagen Delays Cleaner Diesel For Jetta

We all know that the US car market is somewhat becoming a little allergic to diesel and the industry is becoming stricter in terms of emission rates. With these present standards, diesel engines are also becoming a little less famous in the US car market.

Months ago, Volkswagen promised to become a little eco-friendlier with their upcoming clean-diesel Jetta TDI but news today says that we will have to wait a little longer for the car to finally come out. The new cleaner Jetta will be making its debut in the spring of 2008.

It?s not the same as the Dodge fan clutch which is very available now. According to the German car maker, they had to push back the production of the TDI because of ?technical issue that was found in the late stages of durability testing? and so the new car will be available in late summer 2008.

The problem with the car is the 50-state test. We all know about the strict emissions standards of the US in terms of diesel engines. Car makers should pass the stricter standards of the country in order for them to be allowed to market the unit in all 50 states, including California and its stringent Air Resources Board.

There are plenty of automakers opting to have a cleaner diesel for the US car market. And all eyes are focused on the Volkswagen Jetta. But as much as we want to have it in our garage, it will come to us next year.

    The Wackiest At Tokyo!

As we all review the coolest vehicles at the Tokyo Motor Show, let?s talk about the wackiest concepts for awhile. I know it?s an interesting subject to talk about aside from the new Jaguar sedan with the best Jaguar shocks right? So, do you have any idea who got into the list from Autos.MSN.com's Top 10 Wackiest Concept Cars? Ok, listen up because it?s going to be really, really wacky!

    Nissan Pivo2
Nissan unveiled the first ever PIVO concept last 2005 in Tokyo, and maybe what's most astonishing is that they were certain to produce a second model.

    Mazda Taiki
If you look intimately enough, Mazda?s Takai might possibly bridge the gap between dream and reality!

    Toyota i-Real
Anytime soon, it is possible that no one will spot this concept cruising down the street. However, the Toyota i-REAL could perhaps mold what a special mobility vehicle may be in the near future.

    Honda PUYO
Remaining as the environmentally friendly accent that runs through Tokyo Motor Show, the PUYO concept is a little, four-passenger zero-emission electric car propelled by Honda's certified fuel-cell system.

    Daihatsu Mud Master-C
Daihatsu?s Mud Master-C is a small, sturdy carrier that is solid and lightweight! Looks can be deceiving? The Mud Master-C is designed with body-on-frame structure for stability and cargo capacity.

    Suzuki X-Head
The X-Head is a cross-utility vehicle from Suzuki. It is a vehicle intended to please all of worshippers of the Tonka toy. It is practical, fun and reliable according to Suzuki. Its greatest quality is its capacity to alter into many appearances.

    Nissan NV200
Created as a work van tomorrow! The NV200 may look as normal as our daily city cars with it?s standard design, but wait until you see the "Attention: Pod Opens" stencil on the side panel. Simply extraordinary!

    Suzuki BiPlane
The futuristic BiPlane carries on a ?70s drag bike that intends to capture the sensation shared by airplanes and bikes.

    Mitsubishi i-MIEV Sport
The i-MIEV is a small electric car concept from Mitsubishi that is designed to demonstrate that a zero-emission car can look pretty good and it can have a sporty accent as well.

    Suzuki PIXY
This concept expands the definition of car. The PIXY is a extremely maneuverable one-seater ?personal mobility pod? with the idea of sustainable individual mobility for future cities and towns.

Hot Wheels And Hot Heels On The SEMA

Just like any other auto show, SEMA has also got many ways to compare itself to the other car shows. And the show was made hot because of the sizzling car models presented. Not only that it?s a total heels and wheels combination since most vehicles were presented by sexy and smiling ladies standing next to the product they want to sell. Whew, sounds really good for the boys. They will not only look for the car parts like the Volkswagen brake caliper or something. Now, this is more like Las Vegas only that these chicks are far more decent.

These girls wear sexy outfits and are getting more and more outrageous as time passes. And special thanks to these girls. If they were not around, the show won't be that interesting. Right guys?

The ?34 Chevrolet Coupe E85: Vintage Green!

At the 2007 SEMA, I guess there?s only one classic car that will surprise us? It?s a ?34 Chevrolet Coupe E85! Yup, it?s a combination of a classic hot rod and a green hybrid car! The General is bringing a '34 Chevy hot rod to the upcoming show, equipped with a 2.0-liter Ecotec four tuned to run on E85, and packed with GM's Performance Parts Stage III package plus a larger turbo!

According to AutoBlog.com, extra distinguished tidbits take in a traditional front suspension with alleviating holes drilled into the hardware with an upturned Corvair steering box mated to conventional manufactured relation and what GM is calling "earth-friendly" interior materials and stuff.

"Since the 1930's, hot rods have embodied American ingenuity, aesthetic flair and the quest for performance. The ethanol Hot Rod is a modern statement that today's hot rodder can address energy concerns about the consumption of petroleum without sacrificing performance or style," said Bryan Nesbitt, the vice-president of General Motors North American Design.

"The engine was built using the basic recipe that is available in the Ecotec performance book available from GM Performance Parts. Also, the E85 conversion is based on a kit that GM is exploring for regular production engines," said Al Oppenheiser, the GM Performance Division director of concept and vehicle integration.

Comments About The 2008 Infiniti EX35

Kicking Tires was able to supply their website with comments coming from Mike Hanley and David Thomas regarding the 2008 Infiniti EX35. These two individuals were two of the very few personalities to have the chance to ride the new car from Honda?s luxury car brand. Of course the car wears the Infiniti shock but more features are given compared to the previous model. Here are the comments of the two car enthusiasts:

Mike Hanley said, ?Like Dave, I found the EX35 and Infiniti G35 sport sedan similar in many ways. Both models share the same platform and have a sport-tuned ride and weighty steering that's conducive to performance driving. Each one also has a strong 3.5-liter V-6 engine and an upscale interior. Think of the EX35 as a hatchback version of the G35.?

He continued, ?Where the EX stands apart from the G is with its technology features, though they're likely to spread across the Infiniti lineup in the future. The Around View Monitor uses strategically positioned cameras to show what's happening on each side of the EX35, and Lane Departure Prevention gives the crossover a gentle tug to keep it in its lane if it begins drifting across the center line. LDP is an impressive technology achievement in and of itself, but more importantly it?s a safety feature with real potential to prevent head-on collisions.?

David Thomas made a comment about the new car saying, ?The weird thing about the EX35 is that it truly handles like a car, more specifically, it handles a lot like the Infiniti G35, right down to the roughness you would expect from a sports sedan, not an SUV. The Acura RDX has a similar ride, so you can?t really dock points there. The interior is really nice. Infiniti is going with an opulent look with lots of detail in the upholstery, which is unusual. Tech features like the Around View Monitor and Lane Departure Prevention worked the way you would want them to and were surprisingly natural to the driver.?

Thomas also said, ?The real downside of the EX35 is the lack of SUV-ness. It doesn?t ride like an SUV and the cargo area is tiny and not too utilitarian, even when the rear seats are folded. I?m left thinking Infiniti built a nicer-equipped and finished G35, not a great small SUV.?

GEICO Says, Illustrate And Buckle It Up!

Seatbelts... Don?t you ever forget strapping on the most important thing when driving! Never ever think of stepping on the gas without buckling up your safety seatbelt! Hey, are you listening? I hope so? Seatbelts are frequently disregarded by some motorists, and this is absolutely wrong! You won?t be saved from a crash by your Dodge shocks or anything else except your seatbelts!

So how can we get the attention of those motorists who always fail to remember buckling up before driving? Maybe creative illustrations on posters will do! This was the idea of GEICO and they obtained the talent of older teen artists and to help catch these offenders' attention! GEICO invites young artists in their new contest targeting 16-to-18-year-old high school students to join its 20th annual Safety Belt Poster Contest for the first time.

According to TheAutoChannel.com, once a year, GEICO contest mixes and reprints the captivating posters and gives out cash awards to local and national winners all throughout the country. The competition will carry on until January the next year.

The contest was introduced by GEICO because new teen drivers have the top crash rates accounted in any age group. The sad part is, they frequently drive without the belts strapped on. The contest is intended to encourage teens to spread the significance of buckling up by illustrating it.

55 percent of deadly injured passenger vehicle occupants were not strapping their safety belts in 2005 according to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA). NHTSA calculates approximately 211,128 lives were saved by safety belts from 1975 through 2005.
